You’ll begin using improved body awareness, restored muscle function, and rediscovered health as a guide, to a self empowering journey out of pain!
"I've had both knees operated on and I’m not a young guy, but these exercises really helped. " "I'm recommending this to my physical therapist!" Moving along to the next segment of your kinetic chain; the knee is the primary means in how you shorten your leg during walking or lower your center of gravity to the ground, as in squatting or sitting. It needs to be able to withstand the weight of your body in a straight leg position and maintain the adaptability to flex fully enough for you to sit on your heels; good balance, posture, and core strength reinforce proper function.
The action of the knee is largely determined by its relationship with the foot and hip and it should always be trained as part of an integrated functional workout. Unfortunately, the majority of exercise equipment doesn’t train standing balance and ignores the ability to sequentially reduce, or slow down, force in the ankle, the knee, and the hip, and then re-produce force, or accelerate, over all three joints. When considering this "triple flexion" and "triple extension" of said joints is how we walk, jog, and run it becomes clear why the P.A.S.T.® Corrective Exercise Program is geared for real results.
It's worth repeating: the knees are not an island unto themselves and work in direct relation to the ankles and hips; so, whatever your knee malady it's occurring in part due to dysfunction elsewhere (e.g. the underlying cause). The P.A.S.T.® Corrective Exercise Program is proven to work by realigning your knees with the rest of your kinetic chain for an active lifestyle.
The good news is that you just have to follow the P.A.S.T.® Knee Tutorial and allow the wisdom of your body to do the rest!
